Tired of handing dad the usual tie and cologne for Father's Day? This year, give dad an experience that he'll never forget and bring the family to Noah's Landing for the 2011 Father's Day Fest.
On June 18-19, 2011, Noah's Landing is hosting a weekend of family-friendly fun in honor of dads. Families can tour the farm at their leisure - stopping to hear fun facts and interact with the critters with the help of Noah's Landing guides. We will also be setting up various kid-friendly activity areas including:
- Dig In! Kids can plant a flower and decorate a peat pot for their dad. While supplies last, we will have seedlings supplied by a local nursery. After they run out, kids can plant sunflower seeds!
- Handimals! An opportunity for kids to get messy and make a memorable gift for dads. We'll have canvas boards for kids to add their handprints. Then, with the help of some inspirational pictures, they can turn their handprints into colorful handimals! (An example: http://www.artistsink.com/services/handimals/images/handimals.jpg)
- Family Fun Spot We're tossing out all of our toys - parachutes, body boppers, hamster wheels, hula hoops, and yard equipment - so kids and parents can cut loose and have fun.
- Dino Dig To celebrate our favorite living "dinosaur," we'll be letting kids make fossil molds and dig for fossils and bones next to Wally the Alligator.
- ZooToo Parlor Get inked! We'll have hand tattoos, hair paint, and other temporary tattoos for kids to get creative.
- Owl Pellets Our Kookaburra do something pretty unique - they actually "cough up" a pellet that packs together the bones and fur of the animals they eat! Kids can dig into owl pellets to learn more about animal diets.
On Saturday and Sunday, Jenkin's Place in Autryville will offer pony rides and the Wildlife Rescue Center will bring raptors for exhibit.
